OUR JOURNEY SO FAR
We began a dialogue with our team to understand their views on sustainability and how they expected the company to act in ways that aligned with their personal aspirations. An important tool was an internal survey where people shared their beliefs and opinions.
The survey was followed by a series of workshops where our people explored opportunities to improve our performance in sustainability. It became clear that we could make many small and inexpensive changes that collectively would significantly improve our performance. Better recycling, more careful use of energy and replacing old equipment, were among the improvements we made.
What's New?
Ecovadis is considered to provide trusted business sustainability ratings. Our first assessment by them in 2022 was to understand our current state, which led to a Bronze Award - but more importantly it helped us identify ways to get better. The changes we made resulted in a Silver Ecovadis medal, awarded in October 2023.
In September we joined DENS Charity as their new Business Partner and began collaborating with them to support the work they do to help those in need in our local community. We have raised money, provided equipment and made donations and we look forward to a closer relationship in future.
